The German language, the language of "poets and thinkers" (Goethe, Schiller, Nietzsche, etc.) is an important language, which must regain its letters of nobility. German is spoken as a native language by approximately 130 million people worldwide. It is the most spoken language in Europe: in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and even Lichtenstein. In Luxembourg it is one of the three official languages of the country.
We must not forget either that Germany, a direct neighbour of Luxembourg, is the 4th largest economic power in the world. It is therefore worth considering learning German. Although French is the dominant language in business in the Grand Duchy, being able to communicate in German is often an advantage in hospitals and with doctors (e.g. Ophthalmologists, Dentists, ENT, etc.), and also for parents with children enrolled in a Luxembourg school.
Let's not forget either that taking German lessons will also make it easier for you to travel to a German-speaking country.
