Why choose Prolingua?

Learning a language with Prolingua will make the difference. Our language school favours a communicative and action-oriented approach, as recommended by the CEFR. We put you in personal and professional situations with the simple objective of improving your level! Our trainers will help you to forget the context of a traditional course by focusing on direct and spontaneous exchanges between the participants of the group as much as possible.

Term courses, intensive courses, in-company training: you have the freedom to choose!

What is the difference between standard group courses and tailored courses ?

Group courses take place in small groups of 3 to 8 participants and are designed to develop learners’ vocabulary, grammar, and speaking skills.

Tailored courses, on the other hand, are specifically designed to meet professional needs and are available in a wide range of languages.

How many participants are there in a standard group course ?

To ensure the highest quality of training, our standard group courses are conducted in small groups of 3 to 8 participants.

What is the Prolingua platform ?

As you may already know, Prolingua provides access to its online learning platform: https://prolingua.itslearning.com/

Your trainer will assign activities and resources to help you deepen your knowledge and support your learning progress.

Will I receive a certificate at the end of my course ?

No later than 15 days after the end of your course, you will receive a certificate of participation by email. This certificate includes:

·       Your attendance record

·       An assessment of your language skills

To obtain this certificate, you must attend at least 50% of the course units plus one additional session. Otherwise, you will receive a simple attendance certificate and will not be eligible to progress to the next level.

What languages does Prolingua offer ?

Prolingua offers courses in 10 different languages, including French, English, German, Luxembourgish, and others.

Some languages are available through both standard group courses and tailored courses, as well as tutoring programmes, while others are offered exclusively through tailored courses and tutoring.

Do you offer courses for children and teenagers ?

Prolingua supports young learners aged 13 to 17 through its tutoring programmes.

Whether your child wants to learn a new language or improve their academic results, our experienced native-speaking trainers are here to help.

Are courses available in person, online, or both?

Group courses are held in person in the morning and at lunchtime, and online via Zoom in the evening.

Tailored courses are available face-to-face, by telephone, via virtual classroom, or in a blended-learning format (available for German, English, French, and Luxembourgish only).

How does an intensive course work? How is it different from a quarterly course ?

Intensive courses consist of 12 sessions of 125 minutes each, held four times per week from Monday to Thursday. These courses are intended for learners who wish to make rapid progress in French or Luxembourgish.

Quarterly courses run over a longer period (three months) and allow participants to study German, English, French, or Luxembourgish. Sessions are shorter than those of intensive courses, lasting 75 minutes each.

Can I start a course during the year ?

Absolutely. Both group and tailored courses can be joined throughout the year.

We regularly offer new  standard group courses, whether quarterly or intensive.

For tailored courses, the start date is arranged according to the learner’s availability.

How can I determine my level before registering ?

Thanks to our placement test, which takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, you will receive your level assessment within 24 hours, helping you choose the most suitable course.

How does the A1–C2 level scale work?

The A1–C2 scale is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the standard framework used throughout Europe to assess language proficiency.

It consists of six progressive levels, ranging from A1 (beginner) to C2 (near-native proficiency), including A2, B1, B2, and C1.

At Prolingua, a placement test is conducted before the start of your training to accurately identify your level and ensure a learning experience tailored to your needs.

Can I change groups if the level is not suitable ?

Yes. A change of group is possible after your level has been reviewed and confirmed by your trainer.

Does Prolingua offer training courses for companies?

Our tailored courses are specifically designed to meet the needs of businesses and professionals, providing language training adapted to workplace requirements.

Is it possible to train several employees at the same time?

Yes. Our tailored training programmes are available either as one-to-one tuition or in small groups of up to 8 participants.

Can training be delivered directly at our premises?

Prolingua offers several delivery options: face-to-face at Prolingua, by telephone, via virtual classroom, or directly at your company’s premises.

What payment methods do you accept?

For group courses, payment can be made by credit/debit card or in cash when registering at our premises.

For tailored courses, payment can be made by credit/debit card at our premises or by bank transfer.

What is the EAQUALS accreditation and why is it important?

EAQUALS (Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality Language Services) is a European quality label that certifies language training providers.

Achieving this accreditation requires a rigorous inspection covering teaching quality, trainers, learning materials, and customer service.

For learners, it provides a clear guarantee that Prolingua is recognised for excellence in language education.

Will I receive an attendance certificate or a certificate at the end of the course?

A course certificate is sent by email together with your end-of-course documents once your training has been completed.

How does Prolingua monitor my progress?

Your progress is monitored by your trainer in close collaboration with our Academic Department.

Will I be asked to provide feedback on my course?

Your opinion matters to us. We will therefore ask you to complete a feedback questionnaire, which will either be sent by email or distributed in person at the beginning and end of your course.

Where is Prolingua located? Is there parking nearby?

Our language school is located at 45A Avenue Monterey, Luxembourg City.

The entrance to the Monterey car park is directly in front of the building, and the Hamilius bus station is only a 5-minute walk from the centre.

What are your opening hours?

We are available:

·       Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.

·       Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Who should I contact at Prolingua if I have a complaint during my training?

Evaluate your language level

What language level do you think you have?

Our FREE ONLINE TEST helps you determine your language level, with no obligation to enroll in a course. This test is an indication of your level in order to direct you to the course best suited to your needs. It has no official value and does not constitute a certifying exercise!
