As a private individual, am I entitled to state help?

Whichever language you choose, the state of Luxembourg offers you various training aids. To be able to benefit from these, the training organisation that you choose must be approved. Since 2001, Prolingua has therefore been registered under number 93928/A.

And if I decide to learn Luxembourgish?

To promote the Luxembourgish language, the government allows salaried staff to pursue their training during working hours at their own expense. In agreement with your superior and the ministry of labour, you can benefit from 200 hours (maximum) of language leave over 2 years. The state will then compensate your company for the time when you are absent.

Language leave

Can taking language lessons at my own expense be considered as training?

Yes, definitely, and this comes under the state training aid offered by the state of Luxembourg. To be able to benefit from it, your training partner must be approved by the state, which has been the case for Prolingua since 2001 under number 93928/A.

What language level do you think you have?
